Small Kitchen Remodeling Ideas
Counter Space
When you only have a small kitchen area, you should be able to think of ideas of how to make your small kitchen as effective and efficient as possible, given the limited space. You must place the maximum quantity of counters so that you would make better use of your kitchen floor space. In order to cover as much of the area not occupied with appliances, you first have to plan your design with deeper counters if the difference in floor space is just two square feet or so.
Place as many cabinets as you like into your small kitchen remodeling design as possible. To be have a more effective and efficient small kitchen space, you must place huge cabinets with sliding drawers close to the oven, while deep cabinets holding plates must be placed close to the dishwasher.
Built-In Facilities
Including built-in facilities is another idea in saving space in your small kitchen. You may have storage for small appliances, microwaves, and built-in ovens to make your small kitchen look less unorganized. If you want a cleaner look, you could also place bread storage cabinets and built-in storage for foods like onions and potatoes.
Waist-high sliding shelves that keep toasters and mixers could also give your small kitchen a cleaner look. In this way your small appliances including mixers and toasters will stay out of sight but still very accessible.
Pantry
Try to convert a closet outside the kitchen area to store pots, cutlery, and not so frequently used items if there is no room for a pantry in your small kitchen. You could also incorporate roll-out pantries which can be pulled out to view the items that you have, but rolled back into the space.
Make sure to add in a pantry cabinet which goes all the way to the ceiling when you install new cabinets in your small kitchen.
Choose A Large Sink
It will be easier for you to clean bigger pans and pots when you have a large sink. Along the same lines, a huge sink is an excellent place to hide your dirty pots. You can also use a big sink that would also serve as a utility sink.
Placing Wire Basket
Placing a wire basket under the sink or inside the cabinet to keep trash bags and other commonly used items can increase the efficiency of your small kitchen. To replace the soap or sprayer, you could incorporate an instant hot water heater on the sink.
Best Storage Solution
Putting in a small island is the best storage solution that you could incorporate in your small kitchen. This strategy will not only provide you with extra space for you to work on but also with additional storage space for you to use.
However, if placing a small island is not possible, then you could design your kitchen to have a galley style which puts the kitchen cabinets in a row hanging on the walls and on either side of the kitchen aisle in order for you to benefit from the little area that you have without them being an obstruction.
Installing under the counter and under cabinet lighting is another great trick that you could use in your small kitchen remodeling design.
